MAPPER Downsizing/Migration
(From UNISYS 2200 to MAPPER/C environment)

Arran Technologies has a proven data migration/code conversion methodology to manage MAPPER Migration projects of any size. The major milestones of a MAPPER migration project are detailed in the following figure.

MAPPER Migration Milestones

1. Inventory & Assessment – An Inventory & Assessment is performed against the applicable MAPPER systems/applications. The result is a working task list of Runs, subroutines and all database elements to be used throughout the migration process.

2. Cross Reference Tables – Complete details of which Runs access what databases and other subroutines and/or Runs and vice versa.

3. Data Conversion – Implementation of MAPPER applications and databases created via subroutines and scripts developed per database specifications.

4. MAPPER Program Code Conversion – MAPPER program code analysis verifying compatibility of execution in a MAPPER/C environment.

5. Unit Test – Each MAPPER program is unit tested with converted code and converted databases.

6. System Test – A base line unit test is established from the 2200 MAPPER environment. The result of the baseline test is compared to the unit test results from the new MAPPER/C environment.

7. Mock Conversions – Conversion scripts created through the Data Conversion process are executed. Data Validation and System Testing efforts are reiterative until successful business results are achieved.
